Shopify Removes "Sell from All Locations" Setting Through September 2025

What Changed

Shopify has begun phasing out the "Sell from all locations" fulfillable inventory setting across its platform. As of July 28, 2025, "Sell only within configured shipping zones" has been automatically enabled on nearly all shops at checkout, restricting product availability to fulfillment locations configured to serve each customer's shipping zone. This deprecation will continue through September 30, 2025, after which the legacy setting will no longer be available.

Why This Matters

This change fundamentally affects how inventory availability is displayed and managed at checkout. Developers and merchants using the old "Sell from all locations to all shipping zones" setting need to update their fulfillment logic to align with Shopify's new regional inventory model. If your store relies on the legacy setting to sell products globally regardless of fulfillment location configuration, you'll need to reconfigure your shipping zones and inventory settings before the September deadline to avoid disruptions to customer checkout experiences.
